NU SO DE from CoSTUME NATIONAL is a floral fragrance with a strong woody side and a thread of spice. Dominique Ropion composed it, and it was released in 2012 as a feminine scent.
Neroli opens it with a fresh, bittersweet orange-blossom brightness, and cardamom and caraway add a cool, aromatic spice with a slightly savoury edge. The floral heart is rich: tuberose and ylang-ylang give a creamy, heady character, and Damask rose a full, velvety petal note. The base brings plenty of wood, with Virginia cedar for a dry, pencil-like note, sandalwood for creamy smoothness and patchouli for earthy depth.
Warm and textured, it suits autumn and winter, for evenings, dinners and occasions where a confident floral feels right, though the neroli and spice keep it from becoming too heavy. It will appeal to someone who likes white florals grounded in woods and given an unusual spicy twist, and who enjoys a scent with quiet strength.
