Contre Pouvoir is a spicy citrus with green, aromatic and ambery sides, released by the French house Brecourt in 2010, composed by Emilie Bouge and intended for men.

Grapefruit and bergamot open it with a bright, slightly bitter citrus, joined by cardamom, which adds a cool, aromatic spice. Mate and holly bring a green, leafy, slightly bitter freshness to the heart, with liquorice adding a dark, aniseed-like sweetness and clover a soft, hay-like note. The base is warm and dry: tobacco gives a honeyed, leafy depth, vetiver a dry, earthy woodiness, elemi a lemony resin, and amber a golden, lasting warmth.

It suits spring and autumn and works well for daytime and office wear. Anyone who likes citrus with green herbs and a tobacco-amber finish should find it rewarding.
