Mandarin orange and pear open it, zesty and juicy, with a salt note adding a mineral, seaside sharpness that runs through the whole scent. Rose sits at the heart, fresh and slightly honeyed, with orris root bringing a cool, powdery, suede-like dryness beside it, and incense a thin line of smoke. The base is a modern chypre: oakmoss gives a bitter, mossy depth, patchouli an earthy richness, Ambrofix a warm, radiant, slightly salty amber, and musk a smooth finish.
Salt and moss make it more mineral than sweet, closer to a rocky coast than a garden. It suits daytime in mild and warm weather, and should appeal to people who like rose and iris with a dry, salty, mossy character.
