Condottiere, from Lubin and composed by Thomas Fontaine and Delphine Thierry in 2019, is a violet and leather fragrance. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, about half add sweet, woody and citrus, and a quarter mention green and leather.
Bergamot and lemon open it with a bright citrus, and angelica adds a green, slightly musky, herbal note. The fruit follows: blackberry and blueberry, dark and faintly jammy, give a sweetness that suits the violet. Italian violet and orris root form the heart, the violet soft and candied, the orris powdery and cool with a suede-like texture. Leather then shows beneath it, smooth rather than harsh, and cashmere wood adds a warm, musky-woody finish.
It is worn by anyone. The powdery violet-and-leather character suits autumn and winter and evening wear, and a person who likes iris or violet scents with a more masculine, tailored edge.
