Vanille Supermassive

Vanille Supermassive by Les EAUX Primordiales, composed by Arnaud Poulain in 2023 and worn by anyone, is a vanilla surrounded by forest and resin. People describe it as sweet, green, woody, musky, resinous and amber-like all at once, with everyone agreeing on all six.

Bergamot opens it brightly, with elemi adding a lemony, peppery resinous sparkle and cinnamon a warm spice. Vanilla and caramel form the sweet centre, creamy and slightly burnt. Around them sits the forest: fir and fir resin for a green, sticky, coniferous sharpness, moss and oakmoss for a dry, earthy, slightly inky depth, and patchouli for a dark, earthy wood. Labdanum adds a resinous amber, and white musk, musk and ambroxan give the base a clean, radiant, slightly salty glow.

It reads as a cold-weather fragrance that is both cosy and outdoorsy, suited to someone who likes vanilla but wants it dry, green and resinous rather than purely sweet.
