Calabrian bergamot opens it with a bright, slightly bitter citrus, and juniper berries and pink pepper add a gin-like, peppery freshness. The heart is May rose, the classic Grasse rose, full and slightly honeyed, with peony adding a lighter, dewier floral note. The base is where the character lies: orris root gives a cool, powdery softness, suede a smooth, quiet leather, frankincense a dry, resinous touch, and vanilla a gentle sweetness that pulls it all together.
