Black pepper, pink pepper and cardamom form the opening: dry and crackling from the black pepper, rosy and bright from the pink, cool and aromatic from the cardamom. The spice then settles onto agarwood, or oud, which brings a deep, resinous and slightly animalic woodiness, while patchouli adds earthy darkness and sandalwood a creamy smoothness that softens the edges.
It is worn by anyone who likes bold, dry spice. The pepper and oud profile suits autumn and winter, evenings and occasions where a confident, grown-up scent is welcome, and it can also work as an office scent in colder weather if applied lightly.
