Purple Mémoire is a 2025 fragrance from the London house Floris, composed by Nicola Pozzani and Penny Ellis. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, most add sweet, about half citrus, and a quarter mention spice, resins and amber.
Bergamot and mandarin open it with a bright citrus, and coriander and lavender give a herbal, faintly peppery edge. The heart is purple in colour as much as in name: violet and iris bring a powdery, slightly sweet softness, cyclamen a watery freshness, and jasmine and ylang-ylang a creamier floral body. What sets it apart is the base: cocoa and cacao pod lend a dry, dark chocolate note that sits unusually well against the violet, with vanilla and tonka bean adding sweetness, labdanum and amber warmth, and sandalwood and musk a soft finish.
It is worn by anyone. The powdery-chocolate character suits autumn and winter and evening wear, and a person who likes violet or iris scents but wants something richer underneath.
