Grapefruit, lemon and citruses open it bright and bitter-edged. Then the spices arrive: pepper and white pepper, pimento, nutmeg and cardamom, warm, dry and tingling, with a liquorice note adding a dark, slightly sweet twist. Floral notes soften the middle. The base is cedar and vetiver, dry and earthy, with smoke drifting through, amber adding warmth and musk a smooth finish.
It is worn by anyone and suits daytime through to evening across most of the year, for someone who likes citrus with a peppery, smoky backbone rather than a sweet one.
