Passionfruit is the unexpected element, bringing a tangy, tropical sweetness to the opening that brightens what would otherwise be a dark composition. Rose follows, soft and slightly jammy, a familiar partner for oud that adds a floral warmth to the middle. Agarwood itself provides the core, deep, dry and faintly medicinal, with patchouli reinforcing the earthy, woody side. Benzoin closes it with a smooth, vanilla-like resin that rounds the edges and adds a gentle sweetness to the drydown.
The fruit makes it a little more approachable than many ouds, so it can work in milder weather as well as in winter, for anyone who wants a woody scent with character and a hint of brightness.
