Oud Dream by Montale, from 2019, is a rose and oud scent worn by anyone. Woody is the dominant accord, with floral noticed by about half of wearers.
The composition is built on three notes, and it is simple in the best way. Agarwood (oud) gives the deep, dark, slightly animalic and resinous wood that defines the scent. Patchouli adds an earthy, damp, chocolatey richness that blends naturally with the oud and extends its dryness. Rose is the counterweight, full and velvety, lending sweetness and lift so that the woods feel plush rather than austere.
With so few materials, the character depends on balance, and here the wood is clearly in front with the rose supporting it. It suits cooler months and evening wear, and will appeal to anyone who already enjoys the rose-and-oud pairing and wants a version that leans towards the oud.
