The opening is bright and herbal, with mandarin and bergamot giving a zesty lift, a green accord adding crushed-leaf sharpness and clary sage a slightly bitter, tea-like note. The heart is unusual and quietly sweet: poppy and carnation give a soft, peppery floral tone, chamomile and herbal notes keep it rustic, and beeswax and dates lend a honeyed, waxy warmth. The base is a conifer wood: fir, cypress and elm, with frankincense adding a dry, resinous, church-like glow.
