Dies Aurorae, the day of dawn, is a gourmand created in 2019 by Antonio Alessandria for his own Italian brand. Sweetness leads, about half of those who describe it note wood, and smaller groups find musk, resin and amber.
The top is a nut-shop: pistachio, hazelnut and almond give a creamy, toasted, nutty sweetness, caramel a golden sugar and elemi a fresh, peppery resin. The heart is golden and warm, with beeswax and honey bringing a rich, waxy, slightly animalic sweetness and incense a soft smoke. The base is creamy and woody, with tonka bean and vanilla for an almond-vanilla sweetness, cedar and sandalwood for a dry and creamy wood, patchouli for depth and musk for a clean finish.
