Black pepper and pepper open it with a sharp, warm bite, and saffron adds a dry, leathery spice that gives the rose a darker frame. The rose itself sits in the middle, more velvety than fresh, held between the spices and the base. Cedar brings a clean, dry wood, labdanum a resinous, slightly animalic warmth, and musk a smooth, skin-like finish that softens the pepper as it settles.
