Summer Oud from Ahmed Al Maghribi, released in 2022, is a woody oud fragrance; wood is what nearly everyone notices, with a third finding it warm with amber and a smaller group picking up sweetness, musk, leather and citrus.
Mandarin orange gives the opening a brief, bright lift, and saffron adds its warm, slightly leathery spice. Rose sits in the middle, giving the oud a softer, more rounded character. The core is dark and dense: agarwood, cypriol and incense bring smoke and resin, patchouli and oakmoss add earth and damp forest floor, and leather deepens it further. Caramel and amber then sweeten the base, with cashmere wood and musk smoothing the finish.
It is worn by anyone. Despite the name, the smoky, resinous weight of it suits cooler weather and evenings, and it is best for someone comfortable with a proper oud rather than a hint of one.
