Crystal Incense

Crystal Incense is a spicy, resinous woody scent from the Italian house Acqua di Parma, released in 2024 and worn by anyone. Spicy and woody are the two words everyone uses for it, most also find it resinous and ambery, and a third notice musk or citrus, which fits a bright, clean take on incense.

Grapefruit opens it with a sharp, slightly bitter citrus, and ginger, cardamom and pepper follow quickly with a warm, zesty, lightly green heat that gives the start energy. Frankincense is the heart and the point of the scent, dry, lemony and faintly smoky, more like resin warmed in the hand than like a church, and Atlas cedar and cedar beneath it add a dry, pencil-like wood that keeps the smoke clean. The base is benzoin and Siam benzoin, soft, balsamic and vanilla-like, with patchouli adding an earthy depth and musk a smooth, skin-like finish.

It is a scent for most seasons, daytime or evening, worn by anyone who likes incense kept bright, spicy and transparent rather than dark and heavy.
