Stricnina

Stricnina is a sweet, fruity gourmand from the Italian house V Canto, created by Paolo Terenzi in 2017 and worn by anyone. Sweetness leads, with a citrus brightness underneath that about half of wearers notice.

The opening is lively: lemon and bergamot bring a sharp, clean zest, and passionfruit adds a tangy, tropical juiciness. The heart turns softer and fruitier, with peach and raspberry giving a jammy ripeness, green notes keeping a little freshness, and a touch of cinnamon warming the fruit. The base settles into musk, vanilla and amber with sweet and woody notes, so the drydown is cosy and lingering rather than sharp.

Opinions on performance are divided: about a third of wearers call the longevity eternal while a similar share find it moderate, and sillage is reported anywhere from moderate to enormous. It is voted mostly for spring and summer and mainly for daytime, which points to a bright, playful fruit scent for warm days.
