Etat de Grace from the French house Plume Impression, composed by Dalia Izem and released in 2019, is a fruity floral with a mossy, woody base. Floral is the word everyone uses for it; about two thirds also find it gourmand and woody, and a third green.
Apricot gives the opening a soft, velvety, slightly sweet fruitiness. The heart is a trio of flowers with distinct personalities: tuberose for creamy, heady richness, peony for a fresh, dewy, slightly rosy lightness, and carnation for a warm, clove-like spiciness. Beneath them, cedar brings a dry, clean woodiness, oakmoss a damp, green, slightly bitter depth, and patchouli an earthy darkness. Tonka bean rounds off the base with a soft, almond-like sweetness that ties the fruit and the woods together.
Etat de Grace is worn by anyone. Its mix of fruit, flowers and moss suits spring and autumn and works from day into evening, and it should appeal to someone who likes classic floral structures with a modern, slightly sweet touch.
