A*Men is a sweet, woody fragrance from the French house Mugler, composed by Jacques Huclier and released in 1996. Gourmand warmth leads, with wood close behind and lighter spicy, floral, herbal and citrus touches.

Mint, lavender and bergamot open with a cool, aromatic freshness, a brief contrast to what follows. The heart turns sweet and creamy: caramel, honey and milk give a rich, dessert-like softness, with patchouli adding an earthy, dark edge. The base is where it becomes distinctive, with coffee bringing a roasted bitterness, tonka bean and vanilla a sweet warmth, and benzoin a resinous depth.

Most wearers find it long lasting, and a sizeable minority call it eternal, with sillage reported as strong by many. It is voted for winter and autumn and mostly for evenings. This masculine scent suits nights out and cold weather, and anyone who enjoys bold coffee-and-caramel gourmands with real presence.
