Burning For Oud is a woody, spicy amber built around oud, incense and rum, released by the French house L'Atelier Parfum in 2022 and composed by Alexis Dadier. It is worn by anyone.

Ginger and pink pepper open it with a fresh, lively heat, joined by rum for a dark, boozy warmth and saffron for a leathery, golden spice. Agarwood is the heart, dry, resinous and faintly smoky, with incense adding a church-like smoke and papyrus a dry, slightly smoky woodiness. Cedar and Himalayan cedar give the base a crisp dryness, patchouli an earthy depth, and amber and ambroxan a warm, mineral, long-lasting finish.

It suits autumn and winter and evening wear. Anyone who likes oud with incense and spice, kept clean and modern rather than animalic, should find it a strong fit.
