Vétiver Infini by the French house Caron, composed by Jean Jacques and released in 2020, is a dry, citrus-led vetiver worn by anyone. Everyone who describes it calls it woody and citrusy; about a third also find it green and floral.

Grapefruit, bergamot and lime open it with sharp, bitter zest. Violet leaf adds a cool, green, cucumber-like freshness, and iris a soft, powdery smoothness that gives the middle its polish. The base is the vetiver itself, Haitian vetiver and vetiver together, rooty, dry and slightly smoky, with cedar adding a clean woody line and a smoke note deepening the darker side of the root.

It wears as a classic, well-bred vetiver, fresh at first and dry and earthy as it settles, suited to daytime and warmer weather but with enough smoke to work in the evening. It suits someone who likes traditional vetiver scents and wants a shared fragrance that is restrained and elegant rather than sweet or loud.
