Elite Gentleman by Avon is a citrus fragrance with spicy, woody, resinous, aromatic and amber sides in equal support. It is credited to Givaudan and was released in 2013 as a masculine scent.

Bergamot and lemon verbena open it with a bright, zesty and lemony freshness, while basil and cardamom add a green, aromatic spice and mace a warm, nutmeg-like heat. Cognac brings a warm, boozy and slightly fruity note. The base is dark and smoky: frankincense gives a dry, resinous smoke, cade oil a tarry, campfire-like edge, and cedar and spruce a dry, coniferous woodiness.

Refined and slightly smoky, it suits autumn and spring, for evenings, smart occasions and nights out. A man who likes citrus scents with a warm, boozy and smoky base will find it an affordable, sophisticated choice. As the name suggests, it aims for a gentlemanly elegance, with a fresh opening that gives way to a deeper, more contemplative and slightly rugged finish.
