Kashkha from Swiss Arabian is a spicy, woody fragrance in the Arabian style. Spice and wood are what everyone notices, with sweetness, musk, amber and citrus each mentioned by a minority.

Bergamot and apple give the opening a short-lived brightness, and then the spices arrive: cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and saffron, warm, dry and a little medicinal, the kind of blend that smells of a spice market rather than a bakery. Marigold adds a bitter, herbal floral note. The base is dense wood: agarwood for a dark resinous depth, cedar and oak for dryness, sandalwood for a creamy edge, with vetiver adding earth and amber and musk softening the finish.

It is marketed as feminine but has a bold, warm character that suits cold weather and evenings, and it will appeal most to someone who already enjoys oud and clove-heavy spiced woods.
