Cuoium is a heavy leather from Orto Parisi, released in 2021 and composed by Alessandro Gualtieri. People describe it as woody above all, with gourmand, floral, resinous, amber and leather facets each noted by a minority.
The opening is raw: animal notes and woody notes together, dense and a little feral. A single violet in the heart adds a powdery softness, a brief contrast before the base takes over. That base is a long list of dark materials, leather and cade oil for smoke and tar, incense and labdanum for resin, patchouli and cedar for earthy wood, and vanilla to round the edges without making it sweet.
