Princesses de Malabar is a soft white floral from the French house Lubin, composed by Delphine Thierry and released in 2018 for women. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, about a third add gourmand and musky, and a smaller group mention woody, amber and citrus.
Bergamot and peach open it, the peach giving a velvety, slightly sweet fruitiness. The heart is generous: white magnolia and magnolia, creamy and lemony; jasmine, rich and warm; ylang-ylang, sweet and slightly banana-like; and cotton flower, a soft, clean, cushiony note. Iris adds a cool powder beneath the flowers. The base of sandalwood, tonka bean, amber and musks is creamy and gently sweet, with the white musk giving a clean, fabric-like finish.
It is a smooth, comforting floral, suited to daytime and mild weather, or to evenings when something soft is wanted. Anyone who likes magnolia and clean musks should find it pleasant.
