Beat Cafe by Jusbox, composed by Claire Liégent in 2016 and worn by anyone, is a dark, spiced, boozy scent with tobacco and leather. Spice is what everyone picks up; most also describe it as woody and resinous, and a third find it aromatic and leathery.

Black pepper, pepper and coriander open it, sharp, dry and a little hot, with the coriander adding a green, aromatic edge. The heart turns to tobacco and cognac, the tobacco dry, honeyed and slightly smoky, the cognac warm and spirited, so the middle smells of a late-night bar. The base is labdanum and benzoin for a dark, sweet, resinous amber, leather for a smooth, smoky depth, cedar for a dry wood and vetiver for an earthy, grassy grounding.

It reads as a cold-weather, evening fragrance, dark and warm, suited to someone who likes tobacco and spice and wants a scent with a bit of swagger rather than sweetness.
