Cardamom, nutmeg and saffron open it with a warm, golden spice, joined by plum, which adds a dark, ripe sweetness, and rose, which gives a soft floral touch. The heart turns to honey and tobacco, thick and sweet against dry and leafy. The base is deep and long: labdanum, styrax, incense and ambergris give a resinous, smoky, slightly salty warmth, leather a supple darkness, and sandalwood, patchouli, cypriol, vanilla and musk a smooth, lasting finish.
It is a cold-weather, evening scent by nature. Anyone who likes honeyed, spiced ambers with tobacco and leather should find it rewarding.
