Molecule 05 is Escentric Molecules' 2020 release by Geza Schoen, and like the rest of the Molecule series it is built around a single material, in this case cashmeran. Woody is the only way wearers describe it, and it is made to be worn by anyone.
Cashmeran is a synthetic that smells of warm, dry wood with a soft, musky, slightly spicy edge, often compared to cashmere or sun-warmed skin. Because it is the only note, there is no opening, heart and base in the usual sense; the scent simply sits on the skin and varies with the wearer, which is the point of the line. It is quiet, abstract and more of a texture than a perfume.
About half of wearers report moderate longevity and a quarter find it weak, and the sillage is moderate for half and intimate for most of the rest. Autumn and spring take the top votes, with day slightly ahead of night, so it works as a quiet, everyday skin scent rather than a statement.
