Love Don't Be Shy, By Kilian's 2007 feminine by Calice Becker, is the marshmallow scent: a sugary floral that most people describe as sweet and floral in equal measure, with a good share also finding it spicy and a few noticing musk, resin and citrus.
Neroli and bergamot open it with a brief citrus brightness, nudged by pink pepper so the sweetness does not arrive all at once. The heart is a soft bouquet of orange blossom and rose, with iris adding powder, all of it dusted with marshmallow, which is the note everyone remembers. The base keeps the confectionery going with sugar and vanilla, but civet underneath adds a warm, slightly animalic depth that stops it from smelling like a sweet shop alone.
Longevity is moderate for the largest group and long lasting for about a third, and most find the sillage moderate. Winter and autumn take the most votes, with day just ahead of night, so it suits cold days when a soft, sugary floral is welcome.
