Acqua di Parma Colonia, dating from 1916, is a classic cologne from the Italian house. It is mainly woody, with floral, aromatic and citrus sides in strong support and smaller musky and amber touches.

The composition follows the classic Italian cologne pattern, with a little more depth. Sicilian citruses open it with a bright, sunny sparkle, while lavender, rosemary, vervain and lemon verbena bring an aromatic, herbal and lemony freshness. In the heart, Bulgarian rose and jasmine add a soft, refined floral note. The base gives the scent its woody character: vetiver brings an earthy, smoky dryness, sandalwood a creamy warmth, patchouli depth, and amber and white musk a smooth, clean finish.

Most wearers report moderate longevity, with some finding it on the weak side, and the large majority describe its sillage as moderate. It is voted mainly for summer and spring, and largely as a daytime scent. It is worn by anyone and suits the office, warm days and smart-casual occasions, for people who like a polished, classic citrus-aromatic cologne with a woody base.
