A bright citrus cologne in the Italian tradition, Mandarino di Sicilia was released by Acqua di Parma in 2024 and is worn by anyone. Citrus is the only accord everyone agrees on; a smaller group also call it woody, and a minority find it green, musky or fresh.
The opening is a cascade of orange: mandarin, green mandarin and blood orange, with bergamot and lemon adding sharper zest. Spearmint threads a cool, slightly sweet freshness through it, and petitgrain, from the leaves of the orange tree, contributes a bitter green edge that makes the fruit feel less like juice and more like the whole tree. As the citrus fades, cedar and a light patchouli give a dry woody floor, and musk keeps the finish soft and clean rather than sharp.
This is the sort of scent that suits hot days, holidays and the office alike, and it will be at its best in spring and summer. People who favour classic colognes with a touch more wood should take to it quickly.
