Lime, lemon, apple, peach, pineapple and plum make a bright, juicy, fruit-bowl opening, with green leaves and green notes adding a fresh snap. The heart is a wide bouquet: rose, jasmine and orange blossom for warmth and sweetness, lily of the valley and lilac for a dewy freshness, ylang-ylang for a creamy headiness, orchid and orris root for a smooth, powdery softness, and geranium for a green, rosy edge. Star anise adds a hint of liquorice. The base is warm and layered, with agarwood, cedar, sandalwood and vetiver for woods, oakmoss for a damp green depth, vanilla, styrax and ambergris for sweetness and resin, and white musk for a soft finish.
Gulbadan is worn by anyone. It suits spring and summer and festive occasions, and someone who enjoys generous, old-fashioned floral bouquets.
