Maraschino by Sospiro Perfumes, composed by Christian Provenzano in 2024 and worn by anyone, is a cherry and almond gourmand with a full floral heart. Sweetness is what everyone picks up and most also describe it as floral; around four in ten find it woody, and a minority notice musk and amber.
Cherry and almond lead, the cherry sweet and slightly boozy in the maraschino style, the almond marzipan-like, with strawberry, peach and apple adding a wider fruit sweetness. The heart is a rich bouquet: jasmine and jasmine sambac for warmth, rose for a soft centre, mimosa for a honeyed, powdery touch and heliotrope and orris root for a soft, almond-and-powder dryness. The base is vanilla and tonka bean for creamy sweetness, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver for a woody, earthy grounding, and musk and amber for warmth.
It reads as an evening and cool-weather gourmand, sweet but layered, suited to someone who likes cherry and almond scents and wants them with flowers and wood underneath.
