Maltol & Cinnamon is a straightforward sweet gourmand built around caramel, cinnamon and berries, released by the Spanish house Maison Label in 2020 and composed by Angela Ciampagna. It is worn by anyone.
Blackberry and redcurrant open it with a tart, jammy fruitiness that stops the sweetness from arriving all at once. Cinnamon gives a warm, bakery-like spice, and caramel, maltol and ethyl maltol together produce that distinctive candyfloss, burnt-sugar sweetness that defines the scent. Walnut adds a nutty, slightly bitter edge. The base is soft and warm, with vanilla and benzoin for a balsamic sweetness, sandalwood for creaminess and musk for a smooth finish.
It suits autumn and winter and cosy or casual wear. Anyone who likes unapologetically sweet, spiced gourmands should find it comfortable.
