Iris Palladium is a woody iris with a herbal, aromatic edge and a warm, resinous base. Les EAUX Primordiales, a French house, released it in 2024; it was composed by Amélie Bourgeois and Arnaud Poulain, and it is worn by anyone.
The opening is green and slightly bitter, with cilantro, lavender and mugwort giving a fresh, herbal character, and cardamom adding a cool spice. Iris and violet then take over, bringing a cool, powdery, faintly earthy elegance that forms the centre of the scent. Around it sit cedar, guaiac wood and sandalwood, dry and smooth, while benzoin, amber and vanilla add a soft, balsamic warmth in the final stage so the powder never feels cold.
It is a refined, slightly austere scent that suits autumn and spring and works well for daytime wear, in an office or on a cool evening. Anyone who likes iris in a woody rather than floral setting should find it worth trying.
