Leather Black (K)night is a spiced floral gourmand with suede and cocoa, released by the French house L'Atelier Parfum in 2022 and composed by Serge de Oliveira. It is worn by anyone.
Bergamot and pink pepper open it with a bright, lightly spiced start, joined by saffron, which adds a warm, leathery, slightly medicinal spice. The heart is jasmine and jasmine sambac, smooth, heady and a little indolic, with iris bringing a cool, powdery contrast. Then the darker side arrives: cocoa and cacao pod give a dry, slightly bitter chocolate, hazelnut a nutty sweetness, and ink an inky, metallic, almost smoky note. Suede and patchouli form the base, soft leather against earthy depth.
It suits autumn and winter and evening wear. Anyone who likes jasmine set against cocoa and soft leather should find it rewarding.
