Organza, composed by Sophie Labbé for Givenchy in 1996, is a rich white floral with a warm, woody base. Flowers are noticed by everyone, about half of wearers also find it woody, a third sweet, and a minority spicy, ambery or citrusy.
Gardenia and orange flower open it alongside bergamot and green notes, with nutmeg adding a warm spice from the first minutes. The heart is a full bouquet, tuberose, jasmine, honeysuckle, peony and iris, which gives it a creamy, slightly powdery opulence, with mace keeping the spice going. The base rests on vanilla and amber for warmth, with guaiac wood, Virginia cedar and other woods adding a dry, smooth depth.
Most wearers find it long lasting, and more than half report strong sillage, so it carries well. It is voted mainly for winter and autumn and a little more for evenings. It suits women who want a grand, enveloping floral for cold weather.
