Vetyverio Eau de Toilette by Diptyque, released in 2010 and composed by Olivier Pescheux, is a bright citrus vetiver worn by anyone. Everyone describes it as citrus, three quarters as floral, and half as spicy; woods and musk are noticed by a minority. It is a gentle, rosy, lightly spiced reading of vetiver rather than a smoky one.

Amalfi lemon, grapefruit, bergamot and mandarin orange open it, a full, sparkling citrus start. The heart is geranium, rose and ylang-ylang, with nutmeg, clove and carrot seeds adding a dry, earthy, faintly powdery spice that gives the flowers an unusual rooty character. The base is vetyver, Virginia cedar and musk, clean and dry, with the vetiver quieter than the name suggests.

Most wearers report moderate longevity and a minority find it weak, as is typical for an eau de toilette. Projection is split between moderate and intimate. Spring and summer lead the season votes, and it is chosen overwhelmingly for daytime. It suits warm days and the office, for anyone who likes vetiver softened by citrus and rose.
