Silver Mountain Water is a green, cool scent from Creed, released in 1995 and composed by Pierre Bourdon with Olivier Creed. Green is the word everyone uses, two thirds add citrus, and a third find it lightly sweet, woody or musky.
The opening is a clean citrus of bergamot and mandarin orange. The heart is the distinctive part: green tea, crisp and slightly metallic, with blackcurrant giving a tart fruitiness and a hint of its leafy sharpness. The base keeps it fresh rather than warm, with galbanum and petitgrain, both green and bitter, over a soft musk and a light sandalwood that barely sweetens it.
It is worn by anyone. Half of wearers report moderate longevity and more than a quarter call it weak, so it is a scent to reapply. Sillage is moderate for most and intimate for a third. Summer and spring are the clear seasons, and it is voted strongly for day. It suits hot weather, sport and office mornings, for someone who wants freshness without sweetness.
