Centaurus, released by Creed in 2024 and worn by anyone, is a spiced, sweet and warm scent built around tobacco. Spicy is the word everyone uses; most also call it sweet, woody, floral and ambery, and a minority aromatic.
The opening is immediately warm: tobacco gives a dry, honeyed leaf note, and cinnamon and cardamom surround it with sweet and tingling spice. The heart is softer, heliotrope adding its almondy powder, jasmine a touch of floral richness, and sandalwood a smooth, creamy wood. The base is resinous and sweet, bourbon vanilla and tonka bean over benzoin, with Ambroxan lending a clean, ambergris-like radiance that carries it.
Most wearers find it long lasting, and the sillage is strong for nearly half and moderate for most of the rest. Winter and autumn take the great majority of seasonal votes and it is largely worn at night. That points to cold evenings, formal dinners and anyone who likes tobacco and vanilla kept elegant rather than sticky.
