Pure Mariposa

Pure Mariposa by Ramon Monegal, released in 2013 and composed by Ramon Monegal himself, is a floral for women built from an unusually long list of notes. Everyone describes it as floral, two thirds as sweet and citrusy, and about half as green, woody and fresh.

The opening is bright and watery: yuzu, grapefruit and bergamot bring zest, and water notes and calone add a cool, melon-like marine freshness. Grass adds a green, just-cut edge. The heart is a rich bouquet of tuberose, Taif rose, jasmine and osmanthus, with peach, plum and fig adding juicy and milky fruit. Iris brings powder, and the base of sandalwood, oakmoss, tonka bean, cashmeran and amber turns creamy, mossy and warm.
