Olé

Olé by the Spanish house Ramon Monegal, composed by Ramon Monegal and released in 2019, is a fruity gourmand with a resinous, green streak. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand; two thirds also find it woody and floral, and a third musky or ambery.

Pineapple and raspberry open it with a juicy, tart-sweet brightness. Dates add a darker, sticky, almost toffee-like sweetness that becomes the heart of the gourmand impression. Jasmine and orchid provide the floral side, the first warm and heady, the second soft and slightly vanillic. Balsam fir and fir are the surprise: a cool, resinous, Christmas-tree greenness that cuts through the fruit and gives the scent its structure. The base is cedar for dry wood, vanilla for creamy sweetness and musk for a soft, skin-like finish.
