UDV Star

UDV Star from the French house Ulric de Varens is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Wood is what everyone notices, about half also find it aromatic and citrusy, and a minority pick up sweetness and leather.

Bergamot, mandarin orange and apple open it fresh and lightly fruity. Lavender and sage give the middle a clean, herbal, slightly camphorous character. The base is a forest: pine, pine tree and fir bring a resinous, coniferous dryness, patchouli adds earth, and leather a dark, slightly rough edge that gives the scent some weight.

It is marketed as masculine and has the character of a classic, no-nonsense daytime scent: fresh and herbal at the start, woody and slightly rugged by the end. It will suit someone who likes the smell of pine and lavender more than sweetness.
