Sketch

Sketch is a sweet, spiced floral with a woody undertone, released by the French house Maison Violet in 2018 and composed by Nathalie Lorson. It is worn by anyone.

Bergamot gives a brief, bright start, quickly warmed by pink pepper and nutmeg, which add a rosy, slightly woody spice. The heart pairs rose with tuberose, the first soft and slightly jammy, the second creamy and heady, so the floral side has real presence without becoming overwhelming. Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean then take over, bringing a warm, sweet, almondy depth, while patchouli adds an earthy, slightly dark edge that keeps the sweetness grounded.

It suits autumn and winter and evening wear in particular, and anyone who likes gourmand florals with a spicy edge rather than pure sweetness should find it comfortable.
