The notes are listed without stages. Rum and whiskey set a boozy, warming tone from the start, backed by coffee and tea, which add roasted bitterness and a slightly dry, tannic edge. Spices run through the middle, and sesame gives a nutty, toasted quality that is unusual in perfume. Tobacco and leather bring depth and a faint smokiness, while ebony keeps it dark and dry. Vanilla and benzoin soften the finish into a sweet, balsamic warmth.
Pavillon Rouge is worn by anyone. By character it is an autumn and winter fragrance, best in the evening, and it suits people who like boozy, tobacco-flavoured scents that stay on the dry side rather than turning into dessert. Think of a drink by a fire rather than a bakery.
