La Petite Robe Rose Noire

La Petite Robe Rose Noire is a dark, sweet rose from the French house Guerlain, released in 2023, composed by Delphine Jelk and marketed for women. Gourmand, woody and floral are the three words everyone uses for it, and about half also find it spicy, green or citrusy, which fits a rose dressed in fruit, tea and leather.

Blackberry opens it with a dark, tart, slightly wine-like fruitiness, brightened by bergamot and sharpened by pink pepper with its rosy, peppery edge. The heart pairs May rose and Damask rose, the first fresh and dewy, the second deeper and jammier, with black tea adding a dry, tannic, slightly smoky note and liquorice a sweet, aniseed-tinged darkness that gives the scent its character. The base is rich and shadowy: agarwood for a resinous wood, leather for a smooth, smoky depth, patchouli for earth, and tonka bean and musk for a soft, sweet, lasting warmth.
