Accra

Accra is Gallivant's 2023 release, composed by Stephanie Bakouche, and it is unusually food-like for the house. Almost everyone calls it gourmand, well over half also find it spicy, and around four in ten describe it as woody, with musky, fresh and leathery facets noted by a minority.

Cacao pod and cocoa set the tone, a dark, slightly bitter chocolate rather than a milky one, with coffee adding roasted depth. Tropical fruit comes from mango, papaya and passionfruit, which brings a juicy sweetness, while chili pepper and pimento add real heat. Tobacco, leather, cognac and styrax give it a smoky, boozy, slightly rubbery undertone, and davana and eucalyptus a strange herbal brightness. Cedar, patchouli and musk settle underneath.
