Black pepper and saffron open it sharp and warm, with the saffron adding a slightly leathery, metallic edge. Rose is the floral centre, and bourbon geranium doubles it with a greener, minty rose tone that keeps the heart from turning jammy. The base is where the dark side arrives: oud gives a dry, smoky wood, ambergris a salty, mineral warmth, and Lorenox a dry, radiant finish. Musk is in the name rather than the recorded note list, so the softness comes from the ambergris instead.
