Bergamot and Calabrian bergamot give a bright, bitter-edged opening, with Sichuan pepper adding a tingling, slightly citrusy spice and elemi a lemony, resinous sparkle. Damask rose and rose form the floral heart, and orris root adds a cool, powdery softness. Dried fruits bring a dark, concentrated sweetness that accounts for the gourmand impression. The base is the chypre part: patchouli adds earth, wormwood a bitter, herbal, slightly green dryness, suede a soft, supple leather and amber a warm, resinous glow.
Le Chypre Du Nil is a shared fragrance, worn by anyone. Rose, dried fruit and suede over patchouli suit autumn and evenings, and it should appeal to people who like classic chypre structure with a fruity, powdery heart.
