Bergamot and orange give a bright, juicy start. Violet is the star, soft, powdery and candy-like, recalling the old-fashioned violet sweets of the name, while sugar adds an extra sweetness. Jasmine brings a creamy floral warmth. The base is unexpectedly green and woody: oakmoss and moss give a damp, earthy bitterness that keeps the sugar in check, cedar a dry wood, and vanilla and amber a soft, warm finish.
